We need to make our working practices efficient, whether or not this is personally pleasing.because other peoples well being depends on it.How to place your company logo or any Graphic object ( a non-electrical primitive that can be placed on a PCB and PCB Library document and populated with a standard image file (*.png, *.jpg, *.bmp, *.svg.).) into your PCB document. I am trying to convey that we need to make pcb layout programs "as simple as a pcb".because they can be, and the effect for our economies is very beneficial.
The problem with engineers is that they never admit to something being too difficult for them.so they all just lock horns with overly difficult pcb layout programs and carry on with them.to the detriment of the s high time engineering managars saw through this and turned to a pcb layout package which is "as simple as a pcb".I know of a pcb layout package which really is that simple.I won't name it, as I will be accused of advertising.Ĭonsidering the proliferation of 100's of different pcb layout programs, and whether or not this is helpful.Ĭonsider the labview program, probably the industry standard program for data monitoring and capture.would it be really helpful if there were hundreds of different data monitoring programs in use?.supposing that you had just learned labview fully, and then you go to another company and they are using something else, and you have to start all over again.how useful is that for your countries engineering industry?.I am not speaking about to an individual, because any engineering individual may be quite enthused at learning and experiencing another software package.rather, I am speaking of the effect on the company, and on the wider economy, and the effect on the general population in terms of the decline in revenue that such ineffienct work practices bring.how does a decline in the productivity of engineering companies effect the poorest of your society? Oh and BTW, you mention Germany, and "they use a certain." Is this all Germans (who design PCB's) you refer to? I rather suspect the German proletariat are more like the rest of the world and use whatever they are happy with - I'm sure not all German companies have agreed to use the same software! I just wish there was so much choice of word processors! Personally I'm glad there are so many programs out there - it's meant I could try a few and settle with one I like. I just swapped the two connections of a component (ie. Recently, I realized there was a small mistake in the schematic and I wanted to fixed it. I completed a huge PCB project about 2 months ago. Far better to use the tool (or toolkit) suited to what you want to do and your level of understanding and preferred workflow, than an entire workshop kitted out for mechanics and builders and electronicists and carpenters and. Im not new to Altium Designer I have been actively using it for at least one year and I have a very weird problem. MS Word tries to be all things to all people, and as a result it's awful. If there were only one program, it would have to do all the things that all the people who might want to use it need to do, from absolute beginners, who would find 90% of the functions mysterious, not useful, distracting and in the way, to people who might find it does not do everything they want, or people who just don't like the way it works or does a certain thing. Flyback, I couldn't disagree with you more.
